14 Career Lessons I Wish I Heard At 20

Do you ever fear you will grow old without achieving the things you set out to do in your professional career? Countless people grow into a state of regret, wishing they could change something about their past. Don’t be like these people. Don’t live a life of regret – listen to these words of advice, and get the most out of your personal and professional life!

1) Do not work for people who do not respect you.

Most of us will experience this at one point or another in our professional lives. Our boss, or perhaps just some assistant supervisor, treating you or your co-workers with no respect. It is a complete waste of time and a huge mistake from the employer. They are paying you because you create value for their company and if they forget that, remind them. If it still happens, pack up your desk, and bid them goodbye. No one is forced to work for someone who treats their employees like servants.

2) Speak up for yourself and your co-workers.

This point is a natural extension of #1. If you are getting mistreated by your boss, your co-workers or even customers, stand up for yourself. Do not accept unfair treatment at your workplace, either for you or your co-workers. If you see anyone getting mistreated, unequally paid, or forced to work under unacceptable conditions, speak up and let it be known. You should always be able to raise concerns about unfair treatment. If you can’t do that without the risk of being fired, your job is probably not worth holding on to in the first place.

3) A career is a marathon – not a sprint.

Your career is your entire working life. It encompasses all the companies you will ever work for. Most of us will go through at least 5 – 10 different employers during our career. Do not blow off all your energy at one time. You need to be able to sustain yourself until you’re ready to retire. Work smart and work hard, be persistent, but do not overburden yourself with tasks that you cannot sustain. This could lead to yourself becoming exhausted, and if you are particularly unfortunate, you may suffer from stress, depression, or other psychological setbacks.

4) Do not work in a company focused on office politics.

This lesson is something which can consume the attention of a company and all its employees. The focus of any company should be its product, process, and people. If too much attention goes into corporate bureaucracy, the product will become a secondary priority, the process will be forgotten, and the people (e.g. the staff and the customers) will be neglected. If you recognize that you are in such a company, pack your bags and head for the door – the company will fail, and they’ll take you along. If you are at the head of such a company, realize it now and start changing course. Only you have the power to control this.

5) People are your greatest assets.

This means real people – your co-workers, your employees, every one of them. A factory may be comprised of machinery worth millions of dollars, but it is the people who operate them that are truly irreplaceable. It is the education they have, the salary they get offered, and the time they get to spend with their families that make them productive and loyal people in the workplace. Do this right, and you will have an unstoppable workforce, willing to climb mountains for you and your company.

6) Do not accept dishonesty.

Not from your employees, not from your boss, not from anyone. If you catch an employee lying to you, unless there is a very good excuse, this employee will have to go. Dishonesty can arise from many things, but it almost always leads to disloyalty, which is something that can cost you or your company dearly. Get rid of it as soon as you see it!

7) Do not be afraid to try something new.

This is important no matter what step you are at on the corporate ladder. Don’t be afraid to try innovative ideas, projects or products. If one of your employees working on the production floor comes to you with a new idea for optimized production efficiency, hear them out. If it turns out the idea might be worth trying, go for it! And don’t forget to give the employee credit for bringing you the idea – this will encourage others to do the same.

8) Do not be worried.

About anything! Do not let worries consume your mind. Always keep a clear and constructive overview of your life, your career, or your company. Things will turn out great if you have your head in the game, and do what you can to make the best possible decisions. Being worried will only drain your energy and give you nothing to prepare for the next day. As soon as you feel a worried or anxious thought enter your mind, ask yourself why, identify the best possible solution, and then focus all of your effort towards that solution. Soon enough, that worry will be gone, and you will have created a positive solution to your problems.

9) Know your worth.

Be clear about what you expect from your boss, your co-workers and other professional relationships you make. Do not let people waste your time. If you are a freelancer, know what you expect to get paid for the work you are doing, and do not settle for any compromise. It will only lead to more compromise in the future, and will leave you feeling worthless. Know your worth, and let them know your price is not up for debate!

10) Do not be afraid of criticism.

Do not let your ego get in the way of criticism. Far too many people feel superior to others, which prevents them from receiving criticism that is designed to help them grow. These people will stagnate – they will not learn or discover new things about themselves, or their actions. Don’t be one of these people. Accept criticism, whether it comes from your boss or the person sweeping the floor of the lobby. Remember that no one is perfect, and everyone has something valuable to contribute.

11) You are only as good as the people standing next to you.

The people you work with affect you in more than one way. If these people are lazy, dishonest, or unfriendly, chances are this behavior will spread to you. It will prevent you from elevating yourself to your maximum potential. In the same way, if the people you work with are smart, fast, and intelligent, chances are this will spread to you, too. Always do what you can to make sure that good and positive people surround you. It will help you grow both personally and professionally.

12) Never stop believing in yourself.

This one almost goes without saying. You are the most important character in your story. You are the hero, the one who will drive the story forward and achieve success. If anyone attempts to tell you otherwise, cast them aside. Never stop believing in yourself, and your power to achieve greatness and happiness in life.

13) Life is too short to be wasted.

If you are currently in a position where you feel like you are wasting your life, you should strongly consider making a change. This may sound like a cliché, but life is simply too short for that. You may need to put yourself in an uncomfortable situation now, to get to a new place in life that will give you more happiness.

14) Your family is more important than your job.

That doesn’t sound much like a career tip, does it? Well, there you have it. It is without a doubt the most important career tip that you will receive today. Your job may be important, but do not let it take priority over your family. Give it as much attention as you can, without compromising the valuable time you spend with the people you love. Giving priority to your family, relaxing, and enjoying their company will give you so much more stamina and energy to go out there and conquer your professional career the next day!

I get lots of questions on masturbation most especially from ladies -yes, ladies masturbate a lot, especially virgins. Guys also masturbate. There is no debate on that. I’m not here to argue about who masturbates most, I need to deal with a serious issue.

Sexual urge for virgins is strong. What makes it stronger is the novelty, newness, the mystery and the hear says about sex.

Masturbation is fondling your genitals consistently to achieve orgasm. Ladies may stroke their clitoris while guys rub, massage or caress their penis. I decided to give explicit explanation because some ask me what masturbation is. Some ladies especiallly non-virgins use candles, banana, small bottles, sticks, dildos or whatever represents a penis and do solo sex (having sex by yourself).

From teenage upward, you will have a strong desire for sex. It’s a sure sign you are normal and capable of having and enjoying sex in marriage. In your 20s it will be stronger and intense! You may wake up feeling horny for no single reason in the world or go hot on spotting a curvy lady! You may start noticing shapes and curves and you have to shake your head several times to keep the image off. You may get worked up on watching a romantic movie and discharge something. You check up and discover you are wet. All these are normal,

So what then do you do when you get hot and horny? Have sex? I know you know my answer and some singles will never be caught dead sleeping around, so what do they do? They masturbate! They give themselves release and pleasure through solo sex while claiming virginity at theseame time. Masturbation is completely wrong and not the way out. Let me explain:

1. Masturabation is not done in isolation. It is done with the image of someone in mind. It can be a lover, an EX, a celebrity, a married person, a crush, someone you like but incapable of having. You imagine having sex with them while masturbating. That is MENTAL FORNICATION

2. For ladies, while inserting all manner of objects, you may mistakenly deflower yourself and also introduce infection into your genitals and womb. It will be very difficult to convince your future partner that you never had sex with man except objects during your solo sex.

3. You kill your ability to enjoy sex in future. Millions of women don’t enjoy sex in marriage which leads to sexual frustration, adultery, lesbianism and feminism. If you are used to getting orgasm by yourself, you won’t be able to get it from your husband. If you are used to objects in your private part, you won’t have feelings for your husband’s penis. You will always think of something harder, bigger, longer, larger and completely unrealistic! Women who complain their husbands’ penis are too small didn’t marry as virgins. They must have been promiscous as singles.

4. You will not have a good sex life as a man. You will experience pre-mature ejaculation and your wife won’t enjoy you leading to acute sexual frustration in marriage. You need self control to fully enjoy sex and give your wife maximum sexual pleasure. A woman enjoys sex when the man can go on for at least 7 minutes before ejaculating. Because you are used to instant release from masturbation, you may not be able to go more than a minute before exploding leaving your wife completely unsatisfied and frustrated. She may close up, become frigid and stop having sex altogether which may lead to you having an affair, she having an affair or both of you having an affair. Self control before marriage helps you enjoy sex to the maximum. You are able to delay ejaculation, go on for a long time and have excellent orgasm while giving your wife pleasure too. That is why total virginity pays!

5. If you do not suffer premature ejaculation, you may have serious problem with delayed/ retarded ejaculation. A situation where you get erection for several hours without ejaculation or orgasm. What is the benefit of sex without orgasm? Rough masturbation with your hands kills your ability to feel/enjoy sex with your wife. It is hell for a woman to be under a man who thrusts in for hours unable to ejaculate. How will the woman get pregnant? It’s the reason some women are seemingly “barren” and can’t talk to anybody out of embarrassment. Thrusting hard for so long leaves the woman sore, frustrated and hating sex altogether. You have so much to lose sexually when you masturbate. Abstaining from this degrading act helps you feel relaxed, confident, have normal sexual intercourse and enjoy the pleasures that comes with sex IN MARRIAGE!

6. You start having sex in the dream with a known or unknown person (demonic entities other wise known as spiritual spouse).

7. You feel drained, dirty, empty, useless and powerless after each act.

8. You start getting unsatisfied and wants the real thing. You fantasize more about sex and start longing for the real act.

9. You get a warped view of the opposite sex. You see them as sexual objects and start having sex with anything in skirt or trousers -you become promiscous.

10. You get damaged, hurt and broken.

11. You are at risk of hell fire!

These and more are the consequences of masturbation. They damage you and shatter you to pieces! What then should you do with your sexual urge? How do you handle the constant hunger for sex?

1. Avoid all dirty pictures, pornography videos, pictures and hot, romantic movies -they are powerful sexual triggers!

2. Avoid friends who say dirty, lewd and obscene things. Stop all sexy banters with friends and say only things that are pure, holy, needful and helpful.

3. Get busy with your life, education and career, there is more to life than sex.

4. Transmute your sexual energy: Channel your sexual energy into something great. I had a strong sex drive in the institution. I simply channelled them into my education making me the best student in my department from the second year. I was very excited and energetic. I burnt the energy on my studies. I also started my ministry and was very committed as my fellowship bible study co-ordinator. If you don’t burn that energy, you will have sex.

5. Study the word a lot especially Psalm 119. When you are filled with the word, you have no space for the devil and his demons in your heart.

6. Pray and speak in tongues always. It sanctifies you.

7. Make friends with godly people.

8. Avoid pornography and romantic movies.

9. Get busy in kingdom service.

10. Give your life to Jesus if you are not born again. He will surely help you out.

Masturbation is wrong, bad, demonic, destructive and sinful. Avoid it and end it with speed if you are deeply involved in it. Jesus can help you.

GMO seeds and products

10 Scary facts about GMO

According to the World Health Organization, “Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can be defined as organisms (i.e. plants, animals or microorganisms) in which the genetic material (DNA) has been altered in a way that does not occur naturally by mating and/or natural recombination. There genetic makeup has been altered through genetic engineering procedures. Merging DNA from different species, creates unconventional animals, bacteria and plants that are not naturally found in customary crossbreeding or even in nature.

The fact that GMOs are approved to be grown in Nigeria is not in doubt a step towards acceptability either the federal government says its just under experimental fields or otherwise; signals a process towards full considerations for adoptions.

Provisions grown through GMOs can lead to better tasting and longer lasting foods, not to mention, they are immune to insects and are capable of withstanding harsh weather changes such as drought, frost and heat. This allows the use of fewer natural resources, which leads to more crops being grown in more places. But who really benefits from GMOs? An increase in crops provides a tremendous economic gain for farmers, but what about the consumers? What are the potential risk we face by allowing our food to be injected and consumed with GMOs?

1. Commonality of GMOs

In the United States alone, GMOs make up about 70-80% of the foods consume. Most foods that contain GMOs are processed foods.

2. The Instability of Health

In most developed countries, GMOs have been banned or placed under strict regulations. After the introduction of GMOs, chronic illnesses, food allergies and disorders like reproductive and digestive ones have increased with time. Although thorough research has yet to be conducted directly linking GMOs to these conditions, some doctors are urging patients to avoid high quantities of foods with GMOs due to its unnatural factors.

3. Resistant to Weeds

Seeds that have been subjected to GMOs are resistant to weeds, but weeds growing in the same areas become exposed to GMOs. Over time, the weeds become resistant as well, causing farmers to use stronger chemicals, which affect the safety of the crops that people consume. More chemicals can lead to more health problems derived from the food we eat.

4. Contaminated—Forever

Not all farmers benefit from GMOs. When seeds are induced with GMOs, they “travel” to other farms and even in the wild making it almost impossible to eliminate all GMOs. Organic farmers face the devastation of huge economic losses trying to keep their crops pure when competing. In addition, the health of future generations are placed at risk due to these “traveling seeds.”

5. Suppressed Information for Cash Crops.

Farmers and/or independent scientists, who discover issues with GMOs or attempt to expose the issues, have been attacked, threatened, fired or even denied funding. At the end of the day, it comes down to money. Information that may tamper with the fact that GMOs produce more long-lasting cash crops is concealed.

6. No Labels

Without labels, how are people to know which foods have been genetically modified? Despite an increase for the demand of labels, one of the greatest hazards with genetically modified foods is that there is no legal label requirements to indicate which foods have been altered. Some are labeled with a Non-GMO sticker, but the fact is, a lot of the foods people consume do not have labels so many people are unaware of what they are actually consuming.

7. Unknown Genetic Effects

Because research on GMOs has not been thorough or explicit, the effects that GMOs will have on the greater human race is still unknown. However, considering the health risks of ingesting these types of foods on a regular basis, it is safe to say that GMOs, being unnatural, will have a negative long-term impact on the human race as a whole.

8. GMOs—Not an Excuse for Food Security

Yes, more crops are grown, but at what cost? Powerful monopolies like Monsanto, a genetically engineering company that controls about 90% of the genetically modified foods worldwide are given complete control over the foods we eat. They sell GMO seeds too farmers, which are not inexpensive; therefore, many farmers are forced to purchase the seeds leaving them dependent on major companies or face the vulnerability to hunger.

9. An Unpredictable Aftermath

Exposure to anything that has been genetically modified cannot be considered safe or healthy because it is, well, to put it simply, unnatural! Disturbing the environments natural genetic makeup can eventually result in the reproduction of unnatural animals and plants including humans.

10. A Closed Mouth Does Not Get Fed

One way to help reduce the use of GMOs is to get educated and simply not eat foods that contain it. Patience and portioning are tactics that should be practiced to help eliminate the modifications of our food. GMOs produce more crops versus growing them naturally. Yet, if we allow for crops to grow at their natural rate and portion the foods we eat, a demand to have more than what we actually need will decrease leading to more natural methods to produce our food.

The bottom line is that genetically modified foods are just not natural and have not been proven to be safe. In America, there are not even labels to inform consumers that what they are about to eat has been genetically modified in a lab and not from the earth. Now, that’s scary!

Considering the attitudes of our Food regulatory agencies here in Nigeria and our large population of illetrate farmers who only need results to adopt any potential GMO seeds which promise more yields and profit. Now that’s more scary!!!

God always hear your prayers

God Hears Your Prayers

Romans 4:7–8

7“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; 8blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

Some people think that if they were more “right” with God, then He would hear their prayers. For example, they sometimes believe that if they had not quarreled with their wives or had those bad thoughts earlier in the day, then God would answer their prayers.

God is not like that. He wants you to know beyond any doubt that you can always come to His throne of grace with boldness and have every confidence that you will receive His mercy and grace. (Hebrews 4:16) You see, because of Jesus’ finished work on the cross, you are already right with God. You don’t need to do anything to make yourself more right with God.

In fact, by faith in Jesus, you have received the righteousness of God Himself! (2 Corinthians 5:21) And no matter how many mistakes you make, you will never lose that righteousness because in the first place, God gave it to you apart from your works. (Romans 4:5–6) In other words, God did not impute righteousness to you because you were good, but because you believed in Jesus.

Because of what Jesus has done for you at the cross, all your sins — past, present and future — are forgiven. God will by no means ever remember your sins or count them against you! (Hebrews 8:12, 10:17)

My friend, because Jesus has been punished for your sins, today, God is not counting your sins against you. This means that your sins won’t stop Him from hearing and responding to your prayers. So you can always run into His presence knowing that you can boldly stand in and enjoy His presence and His love.

When you know this truth, it is going to set you free in your relationship with God. You can talk to Him without fear or any sense of condemnation. You can practice His presence and trust that He always hears you. Should something happen at home or at work, you don’t always have to call for your church leaders — you pray and God hears you!

Beloved, you are righteous in Christ and God hears your prayers — all because of Jesus!
Thought For The Day

Because of Jesus’ finished work on the cross, you are already right with God. So when you pray, God hears you!
